The ALS Breeze on the Net

To raise ALS (a disease hardly given attention before) awareness, the ice bucket challenge certainly created a breeze on the net what with lots of celebrities, known faces, and many more people participating in it.

In case you still don't know what this is about, ALS stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, a neurodegenerative disease, which in the end spreads to all your muscles and you lose control of your body movement or you simply can't move, and eventually death.

It is not contagious, it may strike anyone, but some cases the symptoms reversed.

Now, about the ice bucket challenge...

Basically a challenge initiated by the ALS organization, which requires one to pour a bucket full of ice water on yourself and then nominate 3 persons to continue the challenge.

#1. Awareness AND donation! (Click me!)
I have to agree that this challenge has successfully spread out really wide, but its main purpose to raise awareness and to get support from the public should not be forgotten. I say, both the challenge and donation are important! I mean, it's not wrong to do what you are capable of right?  *Even a small amount of donation counts!*

#2. It's not funny
Although it is widely spread, it seems to me like many people don't really know (or maybe didn't quite register it properly) that the challenge is to let the public get to experience, even if just for a few seconds, of how ALS patients feel, besides raising awareness and getting support. And it's not necessary for one to only act after being nominated, I mean, YOU CAN INITIATE THE MOVE!

#3. Water wastage issue
Some people argued about water wastage while doing the event. All I would say is if anyone who read this are gonna take the challenge, please do not use pure clean drinkable water for the matter, and if possible do it on some grassy place to fully use the water. Note that ice cold water may harm plants, but if it's just a one time thing, it's okay.

#4. Health issue
Take precautions while taking up the challenge. Do prepare towels or any other proper ways to prevent falling sick from the challenge like catching a flu. Don't hurt yourself.

Shoutout here to everyone! Along with this ALS breeze, hopefully it raises more than just the ALS awareness. Please also care about other patients suffering from other diseases. Also the suffering countries. And well, the list goes on.

I've made a move by donating! Challenge yet to be done!
Brighten up someone's day today! :)
